Job Description:
The Systems Analyst role is to assist in the evaluation, selection, acquisition, design, development, implementation and support of information technology systems at FMCH. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve systems issues in order to maximize the efficiency and benefit of IT systems investments.

Job Responsibilities:
•Assist in the planning, design, development of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
•Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues.
•Collaborate with ITS team to properly identify and assign systems testing, updates, and validation, including scheduling downtime and communication to system owners.
•Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house systems.
•Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
•Document, create, and maintain procedures for systems and application design, installs, and validation.
•Participate in systems administration duties as required.
•Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts to provide direction to team members.
•Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
•Provide on-call availability to a 24/7 support environment.
•Maintaining awareness on technology trends and how they relate to Fort Madison Community Hospital
•Process and procedure development for effective IT support
•Create and maintain reports for data analysis
•Communicate easily, clearly, accurately and confidently by both written and verbal means
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
•Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and other means.
•Ability to read, analyze and interpret periodicals, professional journals, procedure manuals and government regulations.
•Ability to focus on a balanced approach to systems that considers organization needs, human issues and technology factors.
•Ability to define the problem, identify requirements, visualize solutions and gain user involvement.
•Ability to effectively manage features/functions of systems relevant to the individual’s Specialty area.
•Maintains focus on own roles and responsibilities and communicates in a timely and effective manner to the department director.
•Must be able to effectively function in a team environment, either as a team member or leader.
•Must be able to successfully train and educate users to effectively utilize information systems functions and routines relevant to the individual’s specialty.
•Performing any additional general support and other responsibilities that are asked for the benefit of the department
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Information Technology Services.

Required Skills & Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.

Experience Needed:
Meditech Focus, Greenway PrimeSuite, Cisco Networking, VMWware vSphere, Citrix XenDesktop, Microsoft Sharepoint Server, Microsoft SQL Server
