Job Summary:

Patterson Companies is looking for students to participate in our Information Technology and Shared Business Services Internship Program from May until August of 2015. The program offers students currently pursuing a computer or business related degree with the opportunity to gain meaningful, practical experience. Interns will make contributions to team efforts in Patterson's fast paced and stimulating environment.

Primary Responsibilities:


As an Intern, you will contribute to Information Services business objectives by completing specific work assignments pertaining to infrastructure support. You will have opportunities to interact with business partners as well.

Intern responsibilities based on assignment could include:
• Participating in soliciting client requirements through interviews/workshops, helping to develop business requirements, and identifying solutions to business problems.
• Assisting with the implementation of IT projects, developing project plans, facilitating project related meetings, and reporting progress to stakeholders.
• Participating in analyzing and designing new or existing computer applications, helping create design documents, performing coding and testing, and assisting in converting business requirements to system requirements.
• Providing assistance to Patterson employees and customers with systems operations, hardware, and software problems and setting up computer hardware and software.
• Use enterprise documentation (standards, guidelines, and procedures) to support technology infrastructure
• Monitor in-place solutions for efficient and appropriate operations. Review necessary logs and reports to interpret the implications of activity and devise plans for appropriate resolution.
• Assist with analyzing and troubleshooting of technology infrastructure
• Assist with change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to systems and software. This also includes: anticipating, mitigating, identifying, responding to, and resolving issues with the systems and software
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Job Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a computer or business-related undergraduate degree program with the desire for a career in Information Technology.
• Must be currently attending an accredited college or university.
• Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater, 3.5 or greater preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
• Ability to communicate on a technical level.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Working knowledge of Server platforms
